What is Gemini Code Assist?

Gemini Code Assist provided AI code help in IDEs and the Gemini CLI. Google has stopped serving the individuals, Google AI Pro and Ultra tiers (June 18, 2026) and ended new purchases of Standard and Enterprise subscriptions on October 9, 2026. Agentic coding is moving to Antigravity, included in Gemini Enterprise editions.

It helped developers write and understand code with Gemini models inside their IDE.
